Description | Fluorescent strains of the Pseudomonas genus still represent considerably heterogenous group and their identification needs a polyphasic approach. The whole-cell protein analysis by SDS - PAGE is a useful method in this polyphasic approach. Thirty - eight environmental strains were characterized by this method together with biochemical and physiological tests. The strains were isolated from the secondary cave deposits called moonmilk. Protein profiles of environmental strains were compared with a database formed mainly of type cultures of the Pseudomonas genus. |
