| Description | A poem may be used as a powerful tool for representing research results in certain cases. A poem can by some serve as a major and the only description of a research result or it can be used as a supplement to results written in regular social scientific prose. A poem functions as a shortcut which compresses the text, amplifies emotions, and urges us to comprehend matters from different angles. It may be produced either through free poetic production based on research material, through contact with interviewees, or by adopting certain rules. These rules are commonly labelled as poetic transcription. The author shows two types of poetic transcription and provides illustrations of them both. |
