Description | Political philosophy reflects significant difference between American and European perceiving of identity: The Americans stress the nation (Huntington, Buchanan), The US as the hegemony in international relations (Kagan) and as the most important bearer of freedom and democracy. The Europeans can see the decline of national states and the shift of power to new administration centers. The new "ruling" leaves out the citizen, it is a democracy without demos. The vision of European identity, European civic society and also liberal representative democracy are in danger. |
