Description Eating disorders are one of the most common and most serious disease especially of young girls and women, with severe consequences for the physical, psychological and social quality of health. Mental bulimia and anorexia nervosa, which form the clearest definition of eating disorders, it exhibits the basic symptoms that are a logical evolution, biological, social and personal significance. Patients in both cases, combines the fear of thickness, attention, which is excessively devoted to its own character and appearance and, ultimately, body weight. The transition between the diseases has boundaries, both forms may move for a second, or taking turns. To get an overview of primary school pupils knowledge of these pathological conditions, was established awareness of the issue of eating disorders at the 2nd elementary school grades, using questionnaire survey research. The five randomly selected primary schools in Brno has been asked 233 pupils on the 6th and 9 classes. Research related to awareness of the issue of eating disorders and was conducted using an anonymous questionnaire survey. The second school was chosen because it can bigger incidence of eating disorders have actually seen. The study was to identify the state of knowledge of pupils, compared to their knowledge and attitudes by gender and age of children, the mapping of information needs of pupils and schools for further training in the problems of eating disorders.
