Description Many press and internet reports mention abuse of nootropic drug piracetam (PIR) in combination with psychostimulants methamphetamine (METH) or MDMA. Acute effects of drugs given to mice intraperitoneally (METH 2.5 mg/kg; MDMA 2.5 mg/kg; PIR 300 mg/kg; PIR+MET; PIR+MDMA) were tested in the open field test.PIR given alone caused no significant changes in mouse behaviour. Significant stimulatory influence of METH and MDMA increased mouse locomotion in the open field significantly more markedly after the combined administration of PIR+METH or PIR+MDMA.
