Description This paper deals with the problem of food intake disorders (particularly anorexia nervosa) in the lighr of their depiction in intentional Czech and world literature for children and young people. In spite of the fact that food intake disorders endanger an increasing number of children and young people they are not a particularly frequent literary topic and, with the exception of texts based on the direct experience of their authors, are presented with the kind of stereotypes that lessen the aesthetic value and potential formative impact of this kind of literature.
