Description The presented results are from the content analysis of images on Czech adolescents Weblogs. We collected a random sample of 609 entries from 203 Weblogs maintained by teens between the ages of 13 and 17 years old. The coding system was developed in cooperation with researchers at Childrens Digital Media Center at UCLA. The overall aim was that of delineating main trends and identifying characteristics, forms, patterns or modes of expression of the global youth culture. We found that Czech adolescents post a higher amount of visual contents compared to US adolescents. The results show that most of the entries posted by bloggers were images of persons, celebrities pictures, and images associated with subcultures. Building on the analysis of these data, our paper shows that images displaying on Weblogs may provide some insights into developmental differences between older and younger adolescents.
