| Description | The paper deals with education and further education of coaches who as educators significantly determine not only sport activities but also leisure and educational activities primarily in young generation. The introductory part summarises current trends in coach education, which emphasise personality and social training of coaches, ethical aspects of coaching and pedagogical responsibility. Further, the paper analyses data from a questionnaire investigation. The addressed coaches often state that the education they completed prepared them well as regards theory, however concerning their coaching practice it was insufficient. A more significant role should be played by further coach education, which should more swiftly react to the current problems of coaching practice. |
