Description The article deals with strengthening inclusive approaches to education in mainstream schools based on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2 (issued by the United Nations in 2006) ratified by the Czech Republic in fall 2009 and followed by the National Plan on the Development of Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities and National Action Plan for Inclusive Education (referred to as NAPIV). It is followed by the analysis of selected studies published within the research project Special Needs of Pupils in Context of the Framework Educational Program for Basic Education and empirical study in selected primary schools in Prague.
