Description The paper presents one way of map skills and knowledge acquirement (map reading, analysis, interpretation, map making and application of map) that should be achieved by pupils of basic schools in accordance with aims of geographical education. Interactive table replaces classical blackboards and chalks slowly but surely and becomes a new didactic tool facilitating teachers work and variegating school lessons. Using an interactive table potential in touch with geographical information systems as an attractive teaching method represents a way of work in geography teaching showing pupils a way to active learning with using cartographic resources. Thus geography teachers have the opportunity to use modern information technologies and didactic tools and develop pupils skills and knowledge with emphasis on their application in practice.
