Description Gender differences in relation to mainstream educational processes have been studied for many years both abroad and in the Czech Republic. We can presume that similar differences could be present in the process of education of students with special education needs. Official documents focusing on inclusion of individuals with disabilities (i. e. Manual for Gender Mainstreaming, Social Inclusion and Social Protection Policies or Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities) refer to men and women with disabilities as specific categories that need different provisions - specifically in relations to the necesssity of stronger protection of woman with disabilities. The relation between gender and tendency to inclusive education is, however, an untouched theme in the research practice. The following summative article focuses on main concepts that are being studied in connection with gender differences in the educational process and discuses their applicabilitiy in the study of inclusive education.
