Description Nowadays, using differentiated and individual approaches to pupils belongs to basic teaching standards. In foreign language teaching, it is also necessary to respect the individual traits of pupils as well as their learning abilities, interests, experience, needs, their motivation to learn and their learning styles. In the paper, selected criteria for the implementation of internal differentiation are explained in detail. Some of them are tagged with examples from classes of German as a foreign language.
