Description | Sonolysis of 2,4-pentanedionato complexes, M(acac)n, M = Fe, Co was studied leading to mixed MnFe2O4 oxides. Sonochemical decompositon of M(acac)n mixture by high intensity ultrasound lead to amorphous Mn ferrite nanoparticles containing acetate matrix. Phase composition of the MnFe2O4 particles was established by XRD. TEM and SEM study showed morphology and the amorphous state of the sonochemical oxide product. The HT-XRD also revealed the spinel crystallization on heating and diffraction domain size. The crystal size growth is ascribed to the protective action of a thin surface layer of pyrolyzed organics. |
