Description | Paper stresses the importance of relational aspect of poly-centricity focusing on multidirectional and reciprocal relations between localities. The paper argues that more complex spatial integration of metropolitan and city regions is developed with a plurality of hierarchical and reciprocal relations between the core city, new suburban job centers and commuting settlements in urban hinterlands. Finally, we discuss wider societal driving forces including policies of urban and regional development and confront our insights with the European debates. |
