| Description | The correspondence of the Papal diplomats active in Prague in 1608–1609 concerns mainly the controversy between Emperor Rudolf and the Archduke Mathias, the issue of succession in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation, and the efforts of the Czech protestants to acquire freedom of confession. It however also reveals the communication tactics employed to achieve the Papal aims. |
