| Description | Data on brownfields, contaminated sites, architectural objects of industrial heritage, undermined areas and sites, human made land forms, CORINE industrial or commercial units, mineral extraction sites and dump sites was used in the GIS based procedure. Every indicator of the post-industrial landscape (PIL) was equipped with 500 m wide buffer. All polygons were unified as post-industrial areas. After the polygons in urban areas were excluded from the processing, remaining polygons were classifier using 5 sq km minimum area criterion. Areas fulfilling this requirement were named as „post-industrial landscapes“, other ones remained as „post-industrial areas“. Thematic typology of PIL was based on the presence of evidences of factors formed any PIL. There were 15 PILs of 7 types identified in the Liberec Region. |
