| Description | This chapter is about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). It is a severe progressive disease affecting only males. In the chapter we introduce DMD from perspective on prevalence, shortly present Parent Project (an international organization associating DMD families) and deal with educational needs of DMD males. Theoretical considerations are complemented an conclusion from partial research projects. Recommendations, useful for specialists working and counselling with DMD males, are presented at the end of the chapter. |
