Description Population of Kenya counts 40 million people and every year the population grows by 1 million. The main source of energy at rural households is fuelwood, thus population growth causes serious deforestation. Remaining forests cover about one percent of the total area of Kenya. The lecture presents personal experience with the spread of appropriate technologies (solar cookers, agroforestry ...), which can contribute to solving the problem of environmental degradation in Kenya.
