| Description | Article is prepared due to start of the project "Development of SMEs in border regions", which is carried out by the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University, in cooperation with the Regional Chamber of Commerce of South Moravia and FH Wien - Studiengänge der WKW. The focus of this contribution is to identify criteria for limitations, needed to create a basic set of enterprises for empirical research, and the reasons and justification of the criteria set. The relevance of each criterion is supported by the selected statistics. Criteria are based on project documentation and are used to obtain a set of 1500 firms. Limitations are devised to the four areas, such as limitation of the region, limitation of economic activity, limitation of enterprise`s size and limitation of legal form of enterprises. |
