Description The article discusses the education as a formative factor in nay human personality but also culture. Considering that the formation of cultural systems is at the expense of nature, attention is paid to environmental education with an emphasis on the role of teacher. On the base of research analysis author of this article characterizes teacher's eco-pedagogical competence and the value dimension, corresponding with the principles of its biophile orientation. It points out the possibilities of developing this capability to successfully implement environmental education (EV), especially in undergraduate teacher training in the field of teaching pupils at first stage of basic school. It highlights the possibilities and limits of training, which aims not only to the teaching profession, but also citizen education.
