The project’s principal goal is to implement a wholy new and truly remarkable course into the Faculty of Education’s curriculum while its idea originates from a premise that current Czech school has been greatly influenced with an omnipresent computer game culture. And even if computer games have stayed out of focus of formal schooling or Czech academic interest for a prolonged time, they manifest themselves in an abundance and in a number of meanings, contexts and purposes – from console games to computer games to mobile/flash game products; digital game culture has taken our lives by storm and game products as such almost equalled – if not even surpassed – the significance of cinema. The course’s main outcome, which is about to unveil in autumn semester of 2011, will consist of students’ original methodological work that should show both better appreciation of the problem and a range of applications in an everyday teacher’s activity.
