The communication has a very important role in the human life.
If the communication process is perturbed – for example because of a handicap – the impaired communication ability represents a very hard strain not only for the person suffering these difficulties, but also for his communication partners.
The solution of this situation offer the systems of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).
The aim of the seminar „the Alternative and Augmentative Communication“ is to inform the students of Special Education (and of other fileds of study) about the problems of the AAC concerning the application and typology, from the theoretical and practical point of view.
In the special education practice the application of the AAC systems is very frequent. Therefore it is necessary to adapt the professional training of the students to requierements of the educationals and other institutions - to their future places of work.
The creation of the practical learning aids and materials would improve the quality of the professional training of the students. The application of these materials would transmit to students the methods and the rules of communication process, conducted by the AAC systems and used in our special education practice.
