The aim of the project is to gather ‘best practices’ in the field of outdoor education and also ‘best practices’ in risky or adventurous play for children. Examples of educational facilities or play-based initiatives/organisations that combine both formal outdoor education and unstructured risky play will be of particular interest.
This compilation of ‘best practices’ will assist in informing primary school teachers from partner organisations how to implement and facilitate the activities in their respective primary schools.
Based on the ‘state-of-the-art’ report (WP2-1), and supported by the expertise of the academic partners, the primary school teachers and other support staff will implement and facilitate the weekly sessions of outdoor education and risky/adventurous play activities.
Throughout the course of these weekly outdoor sessions, teachers and other staff will have the opportunity to try out the ‘best practices’, adapt and explore new activities, tools and methods to facilitate the outdoor sessions for the children.
Project Outputs: Development of interactive workshop and online toolbox
