Popis | In this presentation we will explore some curricular options for developing and implementing social skills goals for clients of various abilities. We will look at Hanley's Preschool Life Skills Curriculum, Dixon and Paliliunas' Accept. Identify. Move. Curriculum, isolated lesson options that come from the work on verbal behavior from Greer and Ross, and a critical look at the use of social stories. When investigating each option we will move through applied examples, accessibility based on client level and environment, and empirical support. Participants should come away from the session with the ability to align social skill targets with client-centered needs, information on where to go to read more about targeted approaches, and a framework for using applied teaching strategies such as behavioral skills training (BST) for creating effective social skills lessons. |
