Popis | On-line coupling of column separation techniques with inductively coupled plasma optical emission/mass spectrometry (ICP OES/MS) is routinely used for sensitive, element-selective analysis. Direct linking to ICP usually relies on a nebulizer, which often suffers from reduced separation resolution due to induced liquid flow. Here we report first off-line coupling of capillary electrophoresis (CE) with ICP MS, which is based on eluent deposition on a suitable target followed by laser ablation (LA) and transfer into ICP. The technique is compatible with microcolumn separations, such as capillary electrophoresis or nano liquid chromatography, in terms of both sensitivity and resolution. Furthermore, the fractions collected on the target can be archived and analyzed using other techniques, e.g. MALDI MS or laser-induced fluorescence. |
