Popis The results published in the study form a part of a long term research realised by the Department of Social Studies at the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University, Brno. The main topic of the research is the education of socially handicapped pupils. The partial study presents the experience gained from a focus group as one of the key methods of the quality oriented research in the context of the evaluation of the programme called Home teacher that has been the centre of department research focus since 2000. Using the focus groups, and the analysis of the students tutoring the socially handicapped pupils, allows us to have a view into the problems of Romani pupils education in their natural background, directly in their families. The analysis is presented in the form of the open coding, it describes key categories that had been identified, having used the the longer text analysis.
