GEOINNOVATION: Innovation in Geographical Education (GEOINNOVATION)

The project aims to strengthen selected aspects of the study programme to increase teachers' professional quality through well-prepared teachers' education. The developed aspects are 1) the interconnection of teaching within the geography subjects and 2) the real integration of the geographical module with the pedagogical-psychological module, 3) a greater emphasis on portfolio use, 4) an increase of students' international experience and 5) the development of teacher identity by building teachers' community. Implementing this aim requires better cooperation and continuous education of the teachers at the Department that will lead to increased professionality of the students of the programme as future geography teachers. The aim of the project stems from the mid-term evaluation of the study programme and the plan of the future development for the study programme.
