Integrating a new employee into the work environment goes beyond orientation, paperwork, and equipment transfer. A quality process is key, reflecting the organization's culture, values, and vision. In past years, faculty leaders have reviewed and set up a comprehensive onboarding process to ensure that the new hire receives the necessary support, proper training, and resources. The process is a user-focused onboarding experience resolving in quicker integration, laying out the groundwork for long-term success. It includes clarification of expectations, assignment of a mentor, and a set of support materials developed for both the newcomer and their Department Head. This year, the faculty continues to improve the process by moving it to an electronic application that will be launched in January 2024.
