Description | Integration of content and language has become a new challenge for pre-service teachers at university settings in the Czech republic. The role of the teacher is to offer scaffolding, a temporary assistance until the pupil is able to become more independent. The presentation offers partial results of the pilot study which focuses on scaffolding strategies teachers use in CLIL primary classrooms in the Czech republic to support pupils’ linguistic and content development. It describes the first phase of research based on primary school lesson observations, video recordings and teachers´ stimulated recall. The results of this research will also be used as a study material for university students of primary education. |
