Description | In the study of how students learn language, pair and group work repair sequences are particularly important to understand how the participants repair the breakdowns in communication. This conversation-analytic study examines how students incorporate dictionary in repair sequences during peer activities. The data consist of audio/video recordings of students from five different Czech upper-secondary schools during three to five EFL lessons. One of the central findings is that the dictionary is viewed as a last resort to check the meaning and that other strategies for conducting repair are employed. |
