Description | The aim of the paper is to describe the narrative identity of teachers in a private alternative school and the manifestation of this identity in their instruction. We conducted in-depth interviews with four teachers in a single institution as well as participatory observation with videorecording of their instruction. The outcomes show the narratively constructed identity of the teachers as being characterized by an individualised approach and respectful attitude towards students. This is reflected in their instruction through the language used, the positioning of the teacher with respect to the students, and didactic means. |
