Description The article deals with different scaffolding strategies when teaching the content of school subjects using CLIL (content and langauge integrated learning). Due to the dual focus of CLIL lessons the teacher has to consider scaffolding equally the content and the language the aims of which significantly differ from the objectives of common foreign language classes. Based on the author s own original research, the text is trying to explain the relation between teaching and learning and offers a set of strategies which can be employed to achieve the goals of both the content and language teaching.
