Description Nature is an integral part of the educational content as well as a means of education (not only environmental). In the chapter we present strategies aiming at the cognition of nature and at the same time the development of a relationship towards nature in the cognitive, cognitive-emotional and cognitive-motor domain. Based on a comparative analysis the author presents the methods leading to the surpassing of manipulative viewing of nature and primitive egocentric opinions and values. She emphasises the experiential and activity features in teaching and work with childrens images of the natural world. She examines the issue in the context of biophile orientation in education.
