Description This work deals with voltammetric determination of xanthine (Xan) and its methylated derivatives (1-, 3-, 7-, and 9-mXan) in the presence of copper ions, which form in situ complexes with corresponding xanthines and enable more sensitive detection of these substances by voltammetric methods on pencil graphite electrodes (PeGE). To enhance the sensitivity of detection we used the elimination voltammetric procedure (EVP), which is able to increase oxidation signals and to uncover the minor processes of the reaction.
