Description In this monograph we have tried to replace the missing discussion on the topic of Sport Management in the Czech Republic and its designation as a subdiscipline of kinanthropology as the parent scientific discipline. In the first part of this chapter we have focused on the definition of term ´Sport Management´ as a field of study. In the second part of the first chapter we have described the definition and outcomes of projects related to sport management profession. The core is the third part of the first chapter, in which we have extensively described definition of the terms ´academic´ and ´scientific´ discipline and we also dedicated another part to the historical development of knowledge and methodology of Sport Management from 1979 to the present. Based on the use of different approaches to defining science we considered the development and maturity of sport management as a scientific discipline. In all our conclusions focused on the specific subject of study, methodology and a unique set of findings, we tried to justify the jurisdiction of Sport Management to the parent discipline which is kinanthropology. In the second chapter we paid attention to the importance of teaching case studies in the study of Sport Management. We have described the various conceptions of their development in the context of local sport and stressed the importance of this educational resource from the perspective of learning outcomes of the European Qualifications Framework and Professional Standards. We have also offered a framework for the development of case studies which should also respect the concept of generational theory which affects the mode of receiving and processing information for teaching process current students. In the third chapter we have analyzed the current concepts of quality in sport field and examined their use in the sports environment in the Czech Republic. As we note the limited perception of the different concepts of quality in sport precludes sports organizations to have an appropriate quality systems. That is why we proposed a conceptual framework which is consistent with the type of sports organization and its focus and position in the national sports hierarchy. We proposed measures in the conclusion to encourage motivation of sports organizations to adopt quality management systems as an essential part of the job as sports managers. We hope that our monograph will positively contribute to expanding common knowledge of interesting and dynamically developing academic and scientific discipline which Sport Management undoubtedly is.
