Description Conference speech: For teachers of vocational subjects in technical fields, practical education and training, there are important requirements in terms of technical expertise, but also pedagogical knowledge, skills and attitudes. The report deals with the possibility of increasing the efficiency of the education of students using participatory methods. It summarizes the essence of activating teaching methods, they consists in relatively faithfully simulated reality of social relations . The educational effect of teaching methods is provided by highly motivated students. Their interest is due both to the belief that participatory methods really prepare for the performance of future profession and also a sense of independence when they are searching for new solutions. The text is supplemented by a real example of the teaching of engineering technology.
