| Description | The paper analyses the function of dream in Otokar Březina's poetry. It analyses the development of this phenomenon in each of his collections in the chronological order. It pays attention to the basic functions of dream: integrating function, the function of initiation, alarming function (prophetic visions) and eventually the harmonising function found in the final compositions. The paper also looks into the genesis of Březina's dreams, especially in Arthur Schopenhauer's, Friedrich Nietzsche's and in Indian philosophy. |
