Description Mortuary variability can be observed within the archaeological record of the Final Eneolithic Corded Ware culture in Moravia (Czech Republic). The approach of the presented investigation analyses only good quality data using multidimensional statistical techniques, primarily including graves recently excavated in the area. The constructive and manipulative character of burial rituals is emphasized, thus only social norms and values in idealized form can be detected. The discussion of this inquiry explains how the connections between the material record and diverse aspects of an idealized world can be linked. However, in order to explore the differences between the idealized and the real world, complex studies with a diverse range of approaches also need to be performed.
