To understand his ideas and opinions it is important to have an idea of his family background, which contributed to the formation of Sonntag's personality that was closely linked to the Agrarian Party to which foundation in Moravia he significantly contributed. His name was long associated with the organization of sugar beet growing movement with the aim to establish, following the example of Bohemia, a unified sugar beet growing organization in Moravia. Especially these activities are described in detail, like his contribution to the process of converting Moravian sugar factories in central Moravia (in Kromeriz and Drahanovice near Olomouc) into agrarian. As a successful landowner and short-term top politician of the Agrarian Party (MP and minister), he was mostly interested in the agrarian policy. In his person, the life experience was closely connected with his tireless work and leadership talent, which resulted in a prodigious political and especially agricultural general knowledge.
