Description A sample of pupils from three primary schools in Brno-city was approached by means of an anonymous questionnaire. Polling articles focused on attitudes and opinions of respondents on addictive drugs and drug prevention. The results showed that nearly one-fifth of the sample smoked tobacco, similarly a large group consumed cannabis, less than 40% alcoholic beverages. To use addictive substances, pupils were most likely to get out of trouble and need to fit into their peers' parties. In case of problems, most children are willing to entrust their parents and friends, but they do not trust teachers and school as the institution. While primary school-based drug prevention activities are formally underway in the monitored schools, they are non-systematic, less attractive for pupils, do not motivate them effectively enough for a healthy lifestyle.
