Keywords constructivism; constructivist learning theory; education; museum.
Description Education is not only a part of the school environment, but also other institutions, among which the museums are now largely ranked. Museums can educate and cultivate their visitors, where constructivist learning theories seem to be an appropriate anchor of museum educational activities. These are based on the constructivist paradigm of social sciences and classical thoughts, which is the representative of Dewey pragmatism. The introduction of constructivist theories of learning, their anchoring in a constructivist paradigm and their subsequent application to the environment of the museum form the key axis and theme of the presented study. The main objective of the study is not only to introduce constructivist-oriented museum education, but in particular to identify and define the basic elements of the constructivist theory of learning that may be useful (not only) for museum and its educational reality, both its practice and subsequent evaluation.
