Description The paper discusses with the issue of the growth of construction activities in the housing construction market and the growth of property prices on the example of the City of Brno following the abolition of regulated rent for rental housing in the Czech Republic. In the Czech Republic, real estate prices have increased several time over the past 25 years, and due to the abolition of state rent regulation, this has led to a decrease in market rents, yet hundreds of thousands of households that have regulated rent pay for housing significantly more.
