Description | The aim of this paper is to assess the Framework Educational Programme for pre-school education, comparing the health recommendations for children and exercise regimen and the reality of physical education in actual kindergartens. The starting point for comparing is a content analysis of the Framework Educational Programme of physical activity of children in kindergartens. Classes were observed in an ordinary nursery school and a kindergarten participating in the programme called Kindergarten promoting health. The volume of spontaneous and controlled physical activities was monitored by a method of direct observation and by chronometry. The results were compared with curricular and professional recommendations for physical activity of children. It was found out that the total amount of physical activities in kindergartens corresponds to the ideal amount of physical activity recommended for children. However, the amount of controlled physical activities is not sufficient and it probably is not enough to meet the quality requirements for physical education of children. |
