Citation
Description Romanticism began to prevail at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. In English, the word originally meant novel, that is, fictional or unreal. Many contemporaries saw fashion in a fashion pose and did not understand romance at all. In the broadest sense, Romanticism was a sense of life that sprang from the atmosphere of the time. Romantics preferred emotion to reason, spread revolutionary ideals, promoted civil liberties and individualism.
