Description | The current study examines the efficacy of two different modes of feedback on lexical sophistication of EFL writing quality using a corpus linguistic tools TAALES. The participants of the study were 65 advanced EFL learners who were divided into two comparison groups. The first group (teacher group) was provided with multiple-draft teacher-only feedback while the other one (peer group) was given combined peer- teacher feedback on their multiple-draft writings. The study investigates the changes in lexical sophistication as an aspect of writing quality between pre-test and post-test learner corpora collected in the teacher and peer group together with comparing the differences between both groups. The results indicate that students in both groups used significantly more sophisticated words in their post-test writings but with no significant difference between the comparison groups. |
