Description The paper will provide a brief description of the possibilities of supporting children and pupils with different mother tongues in the Czech education system, primarily in the field of basic education. A substantial part of it will be devoted to the possibilities of using supporting measures, modifying the educational content or teaching the subject Czech as a Second Language. The amendment to the Education Act, which came into force on 1st September 2021, and the effort to explain what is changing with this support, will also be briefly mentioned. The list of methodological and teaching materials suitable for use in teaching and the definition of a different view of legislation on the terms child / pupil-foreigner and child / pupil with different tongue will not be left out either.
