Description | The contribution deals with children with reduced cognitive efficiency, their specific, and frequent difficulties in learning mathematics in the first years of education. Two case studies from longitudinal research on children with reduced cognitive efficiency will illustrate the specific ways in which reduced cognitive efficiency can manifest itself in mathematics, how children can be helped to overcome the mathematics curriculum. Problems in learning two basic arithmetic operations will be presented. The differentiation of teaching will be briefly introduced as an effective opportunity to work with these children. |
