Description The chapter "Image of War in the Novels Pole orná a válečná and Tři řeky" aims to analyse these novels with a particular focus on the transformation of Vančura's view of the reality of war. In his early novel "Pole orná a válečná" (1925), which lacks a more unified plot, the author depicts the horrors of war in a series of images through a subjective lens. The novel "Tři řeky" (1936), on the other hand, is Vančura's path to objective epic. The theme of the transformation of society against the background of the Soviet revolution adds to the anti-war gesture. The research analyses the transformation of Vančura's narrative as well as the degree of imagination where the author moves from the subjectivity of his early work to the objective narrative of his later work. The analysis sheds light on the differences in Vančura's view of the war conflict at different stages of his work and traces the moves from an intimate depiction of reality in the novel "Pole orná a válečná" to a wide-ranging image of the new society in the novel "Tři řeky".
