Description | In this article, the authors aim to introduce the internationally known pedagogue, philosopher, thinker and writer Jan Amos Komenský (Comenius), and to demonstrate how his pedagogical principles developed in the 17th century mirror the principles of the Orff Schulwerk approach. Firstly, the authors briefly describe the educational context of the Czech general music education system emphasizing the position of Orff Schulwerk pedagogy. Secondly, they provide ideas and traditional folk resources connecting the inspiring ideas of Comenius with the specific possibilities of music education based on the principles of Orff Schulwerk. The paper is based, among other things, on empirical findings obtained as part of specific research at the university. |
