| Description | Systematic research into the destruction of the fortification in Pohansko (Břeclav cadastral area, Břeclav District) in 2021 focused on the areas of the presumed gates. By combining geophysical research, studying geomorphology and previously excavated structures, we selected the locations of the potential gates. The research aimed to find out the state of the preservation of the walls and gates and their destruction. The orientation and location of the test pits were chosen so that they could be followed up in the future by a regular excavation. However, due to time and financial demands, this would be a matter of a separate future research project. The aim was not to remove the archaeological contexts completely; only the necessary interventions were made so that in the future it would be possible to link other contexts without losing the information potential. The research successfully identified the remains of the north and west gates. |
